It is with heavy hearts that we make this latest update. On Monday night, we lost one of John's biggest fans. Rupe Ricksen passed away peacefully with his family by his side. We will cherish this last visit John had with "Papa" and know that his amazing spirit remains with us.
We are constantly reminded of how much Rupe has influenced our lives and thank him for the gifts he has given our children. He taught them the importance of family, to lead by example, work hard and love what you do. They have his passion for sports and love for Cal. Through them his legacy will live on.
Rupe is now looking over John and all of you from above. Our hearts fo out to you, Ricksen family.
ReplyDeleteMollie and Mike, I loved listening to you guys talk about all the ways John reminds you of his Papa, in his quite strength, his sense of humor...Rupe truly will live on in through John and the rest of the Ricksen family. I love you....
ReplyDeleteDear Mollie and Mike - Rupe was introduced to us at your wedding and we remember him as one with a great zest for life who loved to sing. How lucky you and your children are to have such wonderful memories of a wonderful Father and Grandfather. Much love to you all. Bart and Carol

Dear Mike (and the entire Ricksen family),

All the best.

Just your random friends from Newport posting again after following the little trooper's progress. We lost our 'Gigi' (my grandma, great-grandma to AJ, Owyn, and Bode) on Monday, the same day that you lost your papa. I figure there's a huge party going on in heaven, celebrating John's strength and courage.
ReplyDeleteMuch love to all,
The Stefanos

ReplyDeleteI will keep you all in my prayers.
